Happy World Oceans Day!
How is your summer going so far? It’s off to a hot and steamy start here in Massachusetts and I’ve been extra thankful for that cool ocean water!
I’m so excited to announce my latest new prints, just in time for World Oceans Day! I photographed “Sun Glitter” (above) in Gloucester, MA on a beautiful summer day. As you know if you’ve been following along for a while, sunshine glittering on water is one of my favorite things in life and I love all the happy sparkles in this image!
Less flashy, but so calming and soothing, “Waves” was shot early on a June morning in Monaco two years ago. I love watching slow waves, there’s something so hypnotizing and meditative about that steady rhythm. It was a very warm morning (that turned into an almost unbearably hot day), and I remember wanting to jump in to cool off, but of course you can’t when you’re by yourself with lots of camera equipment! 🙂 I don’t know if it’s just me, but I feel like you can almost see the warmth in the air in spite of that deep blue color of the water
Both these images fill me with such peace and happiness and gratitude for nature. It’s so easy to take it for granted, but I think we all have an intensified appreciation for the outdoors after these past 18 months!
Preserving and restoring the oceans is of course very important to me, and to celebrate World Oceans Day, I will donate a portion of all sales this week to the Ocean Conservancy. They do fantastic work, and how they began is a pretty cute story, you can read it here.
