I’m so excited to finally launch the first prints from the French Riviera! First out are two nautical prints: Yacht No. 1 and Yacht No. 2. If you follow me on Instagram, you probably already know this, but I spent 2 months in France last summer and have been working on the prints from that trip for over a year now. So at long last, here they are, the first two of many to come!
I shot these images in Antibes, an absolutely beautiful town situated roughly between Nice and Cannes on the Côte d’Azur. It was probably one of my favorite spots on the Riviera, and being a bit of a boat nerd, I spent a good amount of time checking out the stunning yachts and mega yachts in the Port Vauban marina.
These prints came to be because while gigantic yachts with helicopters are fun to look at, what really caught my eye and fascinated me was the contrast of the clean, crisp shapes and lines of the yachts and how they interacted with the water and amazing colors of the Mediterranean. I loved the effect the light and shadows and clarity of the water created – almost like the boats were floating above the surface.
