Abstract Water: New Work from France
new work: abstract water
“Abstract Water”, my latest series from the French Riviera is live! 🎉
I photographed this series last summer on Cap d’Antibes, the peninsula just south of the town of Antibes that is home to, among other things, the legendary Hôtel du Cap Eden Roc, as well as stunning nature and lots of beautiful beaches with crystal clear water and breathtaking views.
The day of this shoot was scorching hot, and standing under that blazing sun, I was extra thankful to be photographing the sea – just looking at that crisp green water made me feel cooler!
What I also thought was cool (pun totally intended 🙂 ) were the abstract, stained glass-like patterns created by the water ripples. And when you look at the images up close, you discover a myriad of shapes and patterns; studying each image is like going on a little treasure hunt!
A few people have asked if the colors have been enhanced in any way, but no, I have not done anything to them, this is how they came out of the camera and how the sea looked in that particular spot that day. I was amazed by the colors of the Mediterranean every single day I was there – the endless variations on blue, aqua, green, turquoise, and cyan even in just one small area are truly mind blowing.
These prints come in sizes up to extra large 48×72 inches, and are available unframed or framed. You can also get them as canvas, metal prints, and acrylic glass prints. Metal and acrylic are great if you want to hang your print in a bathroom, pool house, spa, or other area with high humidity, or want a really modern, frameless look.
