Silver Waves: New Minimalist Gray Prints

Introducing the Silver Waves print series

I’m so excited to share these new Silver Waves prints! They have been a long time in the making, going through many revisions along the way, but finally, here they are.

I photographed this series on a calm November morning at Good Harbor Beach on Cape Ann, MA, when the fog was so thick you couldn’t see more than a few feet ahead of you, and all was quiet, except for the occasional muted cry of a seagull and the sound of the foghorn in the distance.

The whole world was monochromatic, and the ocean had this beautiful silver gray color. The surface of the water was so smooth that it almost looked like silk. Every now and then, the sun would peak through the fog ever so slightly, creating a warm, soft shimmer on the water, and tiny tidal waves slowly rolled in. It was such a peaceful, magical morning, it almost felt like a dream.

There’s a little twist to these images: from a distance, they are mostly abstract, but when you look at the waves up close, they have a cool ribbon-like appearance.
